“Fab dining, with a simple, but perfect menu…” (The Sunday Times)
Open to non residents for dinner and breakfast. Booking is essential. Dinner costs £84 for 3 courses and £92 for 4 courses. This includes marinated olives, canapes, two types of homemade bread, tea, coffee or herbal infusions and petit fours.
We serve a daily changing set menu, with no choice, but with notice we can provide for most dietary needs and we take particular care to cater for vegetarians and vegans.
We aim for natural, skilled cooking of the ingredients most immediately available, especially the islands’ fish, shellfish, lamb, beef and game. We use organic, wild or home-produced ingredients as much as possible. Bread, cakes, biscuits and ice-creams are made by us. Getting the sort of ingredients we like can sometimes be difficult (never mind expensive!) on Harris, but we are always trying to find the best that we can. In recognition of the care that we take in sourcing and preparing our food, we were one of the restaurants (and the only one from the Outer Hebrides) to be featured in Alastair Sawday’s Eat Slow Britain.
We have an interesting list of about 80 wines with prices from £12 to £120, with most bottles in the £20 to £40 range. Our suppliers include Les Caves de Pyrene, Goedhuis
We are also listed in the Good Food Guide; the Good Hotel Guide; Alastair Sawday’s Special Places to Stay; and Scotland the Best. We are one of the The Times top 10 best places to eat by the sea in the UK.
